Position Scope

This position will primarily focus on the commissioning, operations and maintenance across the company’s solar project portfolio. This role will be expected to develop effective working relationships and engage with clients/stakeholders, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to develop coordinated solar designs that meet and exceed project and client goals. The position will report to the Solar Vice President.


  • Lead and contribute to projects for solar resource assessments, energy production estimates, performance assessments of operating projects, siting, performance testing, feasibility studies, new technology evaluation, component modeling, conceptual design, and strategic planning.

  • Develop detailed performance test protocols and analyze actual plant performance against these protocols. Evaluate and provide risk analysis for EPC performance guarantees.

  • Provide expert consultation on solar PV plant components such as modules, inverters, meteorological stations, and trackers.

  • Acting as the trusted advisor for customers and liaising with internal teams as needed for technical solutions.

  • Complete standard reports and reporting system dashboards in alignment with reporting cycles of various stakeholders.

  • Monitors, identifies, and troubleshoots data inaccuracies across platforms.


Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or in a related science-based field.

  • Demonstrated Solar PV performance experience. Battery and Energy Storage experience, particularly in integrated performance assessment and optimization of energy storage systems with Solar PV is a plus.

  • Minimum of 4 years related work experience. Professionals with less experience may be considered for entry to mid-level solar PV performance positions.

  • Experience with commissioning of solar systems ranging from 500 kW – 5 MW including analysis of equipment and site level commissioning reports from subcontractor.

  • Experience with PVsyst generation and analysis preferred.

  • Experience with Also Energy PowerTrack  and DAS platform preferred.

  • Experience with SolarEdge platform preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly through formal reports, presentations, teleconferences, memoranda and email.

  • Must be able to function equally well in fast-paced, collaborative, multi-discipline teams, and self-directed independent assignments. Willingness to expands knowledge and skill sets in area of discipline.

  • Must be self-motivated, with an ability to balance multiple projects while working under tight deadline.

  • Ability to travel to job sites.
